Postpartum Depression

The health of your whole family is very important to us. We want you to establish a healthy and loving relationship with your child. Therefore, we have decided to screen moms for postpartum depression at your infant's one month and six month visit as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. However, you may request the screening tool at any visit in our office.

Postpartum depression can affect moms at any time during their baby's first year of life, and is not a character flaw or weakness. Often, your partner or another family member may recognize the symptoms before mom does. Signs and symptoms vary. Postpartum depression may interfere with your ability to care for your baby - prompt treatment can prevent this by helping you manage your symptoms.

Please contact our office or your OBGYN if you have concerns.
